AI visibility audit
Is ChatGPT recommending your brand, or your client's? What a useful audit measures, and three ways to get one this week.
What an AI visibility audit should answer
- Are we recommended? For the questions buyers actually ask ("best CRM for a 10-person agency"), not for the brand name.
- Who is named instead? Share of voice against named competitors, per engine.
- Why? The quote from each answer, and which pages each engine cited.
- What to do next? A short, ranked list: pages to fix, sources to get onto, questions to target.
Branded questions ("is Acme good?") flatter everyone and should be excluded from the score. Run each question on each engine separately, because ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Mode cite different sources.

FAQ
What is a GEO audit?
GEO (generative engine optimization) audit is another name for an AI visibility audit: measuring whether AI assistants recommend a brand for buyer questions, who they name instead, and which sources they rely on.
How many questions does an audit need?
Ten to twenty buyer-intent questions per brand is enough to see a pattern. Fewer than five is noise, because AI answers vary between runs.
Which engines do you check?
The packet covers ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google AI Mode plus Google rankings for up to 10 keywords. The tracker adds Claude and Google AI Overviews.
